Precious Places - now easily reached from Woolwich!

This is a glimpse into some of the personal meanings that lie behind public space. See www.portsofcall.org.uk.
The Precious Places exhibition and plaques for the Ports of Call digital trail have been created by artist Loraine Leeson in collaboration with residents of Silvertown and North Woolwich. In February, a series of 14 stainless steel and laminate commemorative plaques will be installed around South Newham marking places special to locals through associations across time or space. On the day of the launch an online exhibition and map featuring the plaque locations will go live at the project website,www.portsofcall.org.uk/precious.html<http://www.portsofcall.org.uk/precious.html .
