Greenwich Industrial mentions

Short mentions of Greenwich industrial sites in newsletters and so on which have come in through the letter box.

GLIAS NEWSLETTER -  we have already mentioned the article on south east trains - but there is also:

notes about future Crossness steaming days on 2nd  September, 23rd September, 21st October  - 10.30-4 Admission 35 www.crossness.org.uk

there is a note about the lack of change/care at Enderby Wharf

INDUSTRIAL ARCHAEOLOGY NEWS

has an article on London Bridge Station - to be featured in our next. (perhaps)

and also has a brief mention of the Thames Cable Car

TRANSACTIONS OF THE NAVAL DOCKYARDS SOCIETY

Has an article about the Women of Restoration Deptford. Some of this seems to be about Samuel Pepys and a Mrs. Bagwell  - she wanted promotion for her husband. There is also something about a Mrs.Beckford, who was a sensible and efficient business woman. Then there is Anne Pearson who seems to have been the Dockyard ratcatcher.    Its a thoroughly good article, by Richard Endsor, and much to be recommended.
